About me
Hello, and welcome. My name is Mag. Olga Lapshova, BA, and I am a registered psychotherapist specializing in Systemic Family Therapy. I am a member of the Austrian Association for Systemic Therapy (ÖAS) and currently pursuing my doctorate in psychotherapy at Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna.
Over the past decade, I have worked with people from many walks of life — children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families — supporting them through emotional challenges, life transitions, and deep personal growth. My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, clarity, and the belief that change becomes possible when we begin to understand our inner patterns and relationships.
Professional background
My professional journey has taken me through a variety of clinical and therapeutic settings — from university clinics and practices to hospitals, youth programs, and palliative care centers. Most recently, I worked as a psychotherapist at Rehabilitation Center, where I provided individual and group therapy, developed group programs, and supported patients through crises and recovery processes.
Previously, I worked with Pro Mente and the Samariterbund, offering psychological counseling and crisis support to adolescents and refugees. I also spent several years at the International Clinic of Sigmund Freud University, where I conducted individual and couples therapy.
Earlier in my career, I gained valuable experience in psychiatric, neurological, and correctional institutions, as well as in gerontological and palliative care — experiences that deeply shaped my understanding of resilience, trauma, and human connection.
At the moment I work at a psychotherapy Project in Caritas.

Volunteer work
Alongside my clinical work, I’ve always valued giving back. During my studies, I volunteered in Nepal and Tanzania, teaching English to children and supporting women and youth affected by violence and poverty. These experiences taught me humility, patience, and the power of human connection across cultures.
Systemic psychotherapy
Systemic therapy is one of the four major approaches to psychotherapy recognised in Austria. In my work, I never look at your experiences, thoughts and feelings in isolation, but always in connection with the relationships and the environment you live in. From this perspective, difficulties become easier to understand and new solutions can emerge.
Couple therapy
In couple therapy, I take the needs of both partners seriously and support you in finding ways together towards a stable and happy relationship. We look at recurring conflicts and communication patterns and gradually develop a way of speaking that helps you understand each other better again.
Process
It all begins with a personal chance to get to know each other. We take our time in a calm setting, you tell me what is on your mind, and together we see whether working together feels right for you. This first conversation is the foundation for a trusting therapy and commits you to nothing.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality
As a psychotherapist, I am bound by statutory confidentiality. It protects your privacy and forms the basis of a trusting therapeutic relationship. This means you can speak freely and openly about anything, without worrying that any of it will reach the outside world.
